Restoring a Historic Milwaukee Landmark: Metz CPA Honored with a 2026 Mayor’s Design Award
Metz CPA’s Milwaukee office was honored to receive a 2026 Mayor’s Design Award in recognition of the adaptive reuse and historic restoration of the former Lyric Theater at 3804 W. Vliet Street. Presented in May 2026, the award highlights projects that contribute to Milwaukee’s architectural character while creating a lasting community impact.
The Mayor’s Design Awards recognize projects that contribute to the character, vitality, and future of Milwaukee’s neighborhoods. Metz CPA was honored for the restoration and revitalization of the historic Lyric Theater building, a once-vacant property that has been thoughtfully transformed into our new office space.
This project reflects our commitment to investing in the communities we serve while preserving an important piece of Milwaukee’s architectural heritage. Today, the building stands as a renewed neighborhood landmark that blends historic character with a modern purpose.
Designed by Allume Architects and brought to life by 53 Builds LLC, the renovation carefully balanced preserving the building’s historic features with the functionality of a contemporary workspace.
